Mary Lee Family Band is a Brazilian band that has been around since 2010. The band toured Brazil for nine years, traveling the country from north to south. As pioneers of the bluegrass/alternative style in the country, the band has created a large community of independent bands of the same style.
In 2014, the band released their debut album and embarked on their first European tour. The public response was so positive that they returned in 2016 and 2018. Due to the great reception in Europe, the band decided to move to Berlin in 2019.
Their second album caught the attention of an American record label from Nashville/TN, "Muddy Roots Music", which was released in 2016 in partnership with a music video for the album's title track.
In 2022, the band participated in Europe in highly respected festivals in the bluegrass/alternative scene, such as "Rotterdam Bluegrass Festival" (NL), "Kids'n Billies" (NL), "Muddy Roots Europe" (BE), "Country & Folk Nëukolln" (DE).
For anybody who experienced their energetic live shows: Mary Lee Family Band is akin to a high-speed train traveling from Brazil to Berlin, with a quick pit stop in New York for a prayer to the church of punk rock / bluegrass and everything in between!
